so this is strange, last summer I drove my truck for 6 weeks, no issues... and not kidding here, the night before we
we were to leave the US, I pulled up to the house after our dinner with the kids, and I shut off the truck.
Then realized I needed to back in to the driveway to put in the luggage for next morning.
But suddenly, and seriously the ONLY time since I've owned it, the truck would not start. I mean, lights still come on, dash, everything, but there is NO response to the key turn at all, and no ticka ticka ticka for the starter. Just dead. I tried for an hour to troubleshoot it, but had to give up and finish packing to leave. So I left it to my adult son to get it checked out and fixed.
So, here we are now 9 months later, my son finally got a tow truck to take it to the shop a week ago. The shop swaps out the battery and starts it up, but say it is probably some 'module'. Module? what module makes it like your truck go into hibernation when the battery is still good and was running seconds before?
I'm just waiting to see if they milk this to increase the bill. I'm hoping they are actually legit and figure it out.
2001 Ford F-150 89K, great truck, just the weirdest thing.
