Going into this year Gonzaga has more NCAA tournament wins (17) over the last 5 tournaments than all of the last 5 National Champions Kansas (15), Baylor (10), Virginia (7), Villanova (14), and UNC (14). They also have more tourney wins over that span than Duke (11), Kentucky (8), and UCLA (8)

Not a shocker that in this tournament Gonzaga has outlasted all of those teams.

It isn’t just feasting on the first two rounds. Of the aforementioned group only Kansas (7) has won as many Sweet 16 and above games as Gonzaga has over the last 5 tournaments.

You don’t have to be impressed that they have been the best program in college basketball over the last 5 plus seasons, but they absolutely have been.

And FAU would like a word about racking up a bunch of wins in a weak conference somehow gets you a high seed theory.
