An example of the humility of Pres. Worthen...
Pres. and Sister Worthen visited our ward while on vacation about 7-8 years ago.

I recognized him right away, as I actually worked in the law school while at BYU while Kevin Worthen was a professor there. We don't have many fanatical BYU fans in our ward and I could tell right away that pretty much no one else recognized who he was. I usually introduce myself to whatever visitors come to our ward before sacrament meeting starts, so I walk up to him and say, "welcome, president and sister Worthen." Some small chit chat about the law school and I go sit down.

During Elders Quorum the instructor gets up and has the visitors introduce themselves. The conversation went something like this:

Instructor to Pres. Worthen: "And who are you, brother?"
Pres. Worthen: "I'm Kevin Worthen, visiting from Provo."
Instructor: "And, what do you do in Provo?"
Pres. Worthen: "I'm in education."
Instructor: "What kind of education?"
Pres. Worthen: "Administration"
Instructor: "Where?"
Pres. Worthen: "BYU"

At this point, one other EQ member who knew who he was and trying to stop the grill session, said "Pres. Worthen is the President of BYU." and the instructor somewhat jokingly says "Well, why didn't you just say so?...welcome President Worthen."

He could have easily just said "I'm President Worthen, BYU president." But that's not who he is. I had great respect for him while at the Law School 20 years ago and was not surprised at all to see him become the dean of the law school and then president of BYU.

Looking forward to President Reese.
