I'm with you, though not as bad as you have it, I think. My approach:
I'm looking aggressively for ALJ positions. I just interviewed with a federal agency. Really crossing my fingers. I enjoy resolving issues, reasoning, all that, but I detest the contention of litigation. I'm not wired that way.
