I was not sure what the appropriate category for this is, because it really isn't Ute Smack.

It seems like people are taking joy in the ESPN article about how the University of Utah officials handled Lauren McCluskey's death. Maybe it's just me, but the whole situation just makes me sad. I am just hoping that people can learn from the incident, and make better decisions in the future. I don't care if it's at the U, at BYU, or anywhere else.

For the record, I am a hardcore BYU fan. I am not a U of U apologist. I actively root against the Utes anytime they are playing. I am experiencing schadenfreude with the mess the Pac-12 is in, and am thoroughly enjoying the diaper content show that they have become.

However, when it comes to the death of a human being, especially under such tragic circumstances, there is nothing happy about it.
