and even if I am no longer a believer and try to understand that it’s just a show and all Hollywooded up, it’s just much too dumb and contribed to even be mediocre tv. Sorry I grew up in Utah in the 1980s and Mormonism, if anything, was far more boring and practical than whatever yarn they were spinning. I love the made up Indian investigator that seems to know the “facts” more than any historian does.

It’s far more interesting to me how intelligent people can put such a dumb show together. The real story should be just how far off the path the Lafferty brothers got from the mainstream church and why but, of course, that would ruin the narrative. Maybe the actual book is more compelling but I would think an episode of CSI is more realistic.
