At one point I had read all his main books, including his short stories in Eiger Dreams. As someone who doesn’t really care about truth or fiction in the climbing world, I didn’t notice or care too much about him twisting the truth. The I read Under the Banner of Heaven. He embellished or used exclusively anti-LDS sources for that one. I think he might have been worse in the Pat Tillman story, in fact it was so bad and biased I cant even remember its name. And Im an anti war guy myself yet Krakauer completely abandoned history and credibility to tell the story he and Tillmans widow wanted told there.
