Yeah, no. Appliance repair is a dying business all across the US, mainly due
to the cost to repair having nearly approached the cost to replace. Then you factor in YouTube how-to videos mixed with cheap parts online, and it becomes nearly impossible for an appliance repair shop to compete anywhere.


I get that it's hard to say goodbye to a longtime family business that they've likely put their heart and soul into, but the bitterness on her part towards the community isn't helping.

The local Deseret Book is the same way. It was the coolest thing back when it first opened over 30 years ago having a church bookstore this close on the east coast, but now it's "why drive that far when the same items and more are a mouse click away?" I feel bad for them, but the owners won't be able to keep it open much longer.
