Is daddy ball a common thing in high school baseball

I recently learned that Davis High School has a handful of “dad helpers” who are not officially coaches, but help coach all practices and games. On top of that, after looking at GameChanger for the two games they have played this year, it looks like their boys also get a lot of extra playing time.

Is this normal for high school baseball in Utah or is it just a Davis High thing that can be avoided by playing somewhere else?

I don’t live in utah but I know various examples of this being the case. Brighton and Davis are examples.

It's all about the HC. High school sports are pretty much volunteer jobs
