I don’t live in utah but I know various examples of this being the case. Brighton and Davis are examples.

Brighton basketball has an assistant coach that is the right hand man to the head basketball coach, the coach does what he says too often. He has two kids in the team. He helps call plays for his kids. One son is good the other is a PG and a turnover machine, he has different rules for him. Supposedly really bad. Parents have reached out to the administration and they don’t care. Kids may leave or play elsewhere.

Davis is known for it some. Do you like Godfrey as a coach?

I have heard Lone Peak is a “name matters” school. Lots of parents too involved. They have good teams but also miss out as they at times don’t play the best kids. Skyridge and CC play the best.
