There was a moment when he let his guard down, just a little, on air.
He mentioned - as did his co-host - that he takes a lot of heat for what people perceive as him no longer liking BYU, becoming a Ute fan, etc. Hans stated that he's a BYU guy, loves the school and memories from his time there, and has some great relationships with teammates. Working where he does, he has become friends with some of the Ute players and staff by interacting with them as much as he does. And because of that - and wanting to retain credibility as a "reporter" - he has tried to stay as objective and unbiased as possible, doing his best to not seem like he supports one team over another. And he admitted that sometimes he might err on the side of seeming to be biased against BYU.

The co-host confirmed that during games, he is texting crap and all in on BYU - he just doesn't come across that way on-air during their show. He apparently also interacts quite a bit with BYU players - present and past - and is a huge homer when interacting with them.

I thought it was interesting that he said he felt he needed to remain neutral on air to retain his credibility. Particularly because there are others who are clearly not neutral in their opinions and who are on the same radio station.
