A few names emerging from Spring Ball this week according to Jake Hatch’s podcast.
1. Jake Retzlaff, QB
He missed the majority of the first couple weeks of camp due to complications from a tonsil surgery. However, after only fully practicing for a week it seems as though he has surpassed Cade Fennegan as the backup to Kedon Slovis.
2. Trevin Ostler, OG
Redshirt freshman who was 6’5 240 coming out of Bountiful and now weighs 330 pounds. Has been seeing snaps with the first-team unit in place of Missouri State transfer Ian Fitzgerald. His emergence would be huge as we will likely lose three of our top OL after 2023.
3. Ammon “Two Hand Touch” Hannemann, LB
He has added a little weight and moved from Safety to Linebacker. Apparently he has been making plays in practice, though I find it hard to believe he has the toughness and aggression to play Linebacker.
