Great story, great actors, great performances, great lines
In addition to our natural fascination with mafia and organized crime
The movie is 50 years old and has been copied, qouted, and spoofed to death. By todays standards it may not blow your mind but 50 years ago there was nothing like it. Phrases from that movie have become part of our vocabulary (I made him an offer he couldn’t refuse, keep your friends close and your enemies closer)
It raised the bar and set a new standard and is still very relevant today
It set the stage for other greats like Goodfellas and Sopranos
