My complaining about my situation post...Feel free to ignore.
I have been dealing with a lot of memory loss the past few years. Every once in a while, when I get flustered or have to concentrate for a long time, I stutter or get confused and can't think of the right words. My wife says I talk about half as fast as I used to talk.
For a long time, I thought it was residual from the TIA (mini stroke) I had back in my 30s about 10-12 years ago. So I just rolled with it the best I could.
While talking to a family member a few weeks ago, she thought it could be a side effect of one of the medications I take. Or it could be a side effect of the way two of the medications are interacting with each other. So I started looking that up and couldn't really focus long enough to get anywhere.
A few years ago, I also did Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) as a way to help me get out of the funk of the depression I had. I was doing really well for a while. The other day, I start looking around online to see if the effects of it ever wear off. As I search, I see articles titled "How TMS ruined my life" and it talks about memory loss and confusion. But then I read how there have been so much research done and there has never been any evidence of memory loss with it.
I don't have the memory to remember when I started forgetting things. The doctors I see are wondering if I want to change things around, but I am at least mentally stable now most of the time. The way I live now with the medications (and side effects) are better than how I was before the TMS and meds. So I don't really want to be messing around with them.
