I had a patient who’s husband was imprisoned for having several DUIs, and I think he even hurt someone. There was a substance abuse program in the prison but the waiting list to get into it was so long he was released before he could get treatment. He went right back to drinking when he got out.

I can almost guarantee if you’re having withdrawal symptoms they will treat you because that can be deadly.
