I think BYU fans and detractors alike often forget that we don’t have a 1984
Without a 1983. By the end of 1984, we hadn’t lost a game since the opening game of 1983 (5 away points from a perfect season…)
I suspect that for at least a few pollsters, the NC in 84 was not just a reflection of that perfect season but perhaps also influenced but the nearly perfect season that preceded it.
