The B12 had a coast-to-coast evaluation of all the G5s just a couple years ago and all these teams (SDSU, UConn, Fresno, SMU, w/e) didn't make the cut. Honestly, they really didn't even seem to be all that close. Similar thing happened in 2016, and I think Bowlsby is on record saying that BYU was the only non-P5 team available that increased the pie.

Even looking at SDSU, I think they're only a legitimate candidate for the PAC. Because the PAC is set to make less money, are willing to take short-term gains over long-term losses by adding them as half share members, and because they're just that desperate to get back into SoCal. But for the B12? I just cannot see how SDSU (or any remaining G5) is worth $32m a year.
