I don't know where Arizona St, is other than just doing what Arizona does. I assume they are still on the tier one invite list.

But! It is possible that Memphis and/or UCONN will be the one or two who take the place previously offered to Utah, with Arizona St. kind of to be determined. (I think the Sun Devils will be in.)

So what about Memphis? Big infrastructure improvements, doing the right things to qualify, and they are in SEC country, for what that's worth.

Is there a third to take the conference to 18 1/2 along with the Zags? And will it be 18? Kind of unwieldy, I think. But Yormark is an empire builder trying to gain parity with the SEC and BIG.

San Diego State, even with their small and sucky new stadium designed by woke city administrators, could be number three. It would be quite a poke in the eye to the Pac, though Yormark won't do it just for that reason.

And Utah? They might end up being the rats who stayed on the sinking ship. Once the Ducks and Huskies depart very quickly after the Big 12 defections for whatever mini-deal the BIG decides to offer, Utah and the remaining five will need to figure out whether to poach, or merge with the MWC.

Which leads us to the question: Is Utah, Stanford, Cal, Oregon St., Washington St. plus all or some members of the MWC still a legitimate Power Conference?

And, how will Utah (and those of us who are Utah taxpayers) cover their shortfall when they end up with a $12M media rights deal? Good thing our State runs a budget surplus.

Lastly, I wonder how recruiting will go with their games being broadcast on Apple TV, Amazon and CW (why not the Hallmark channel...)?

P.S. My antipathy regarding Utah athletics is just that. I have stuff going on that requires me to be up at the medical center two to five days a week. So here's my plug and gratitude for the University Health System. They are amazing.
