My graduate thesis class was on property tax. Imagine spending 16 weeks studying
Every aspect of the property tax and then writing a 30 page paper on the effects of the property tax and specifically the incidence of the property tax!
Horrible tax very regressive. The foolhardy politicians want to say it is the only way to pay for education. Not true. And my FIL wrote the school taxation laws for the state of an Utah in the 1960s. I did t agree with a single piece of his thought process
The lowest people on the totem pole oay the property taxes. The higher you are in society the less you pay as you have means to transfer the incidence to others. Landlords don’t pay renters do. Businesses don’t pay consumers do
Single family home owners do pay but they aren’t the upper crust too 10% or above
Good for Texas if they can pull this off. It’s probably the only reason I didn’t move to Texas

As a libertarian, property tax IMO is the most heinous form of taxation. In practice, it makes all property owners mere
