In the regular season Utah came within 4 points of beating Oregon and Florida and within 11 points of beating UCLA that year, while TCU only came within 4 points of beating KSU in OT during the regular season. I find it hard to believe that the fans of a University that prides itself on morality could ever rank a team with 3 moral victories in the regular season over a team with only 1. Does the phrase "can I get out of the circle? No, never. I'd die first." mean nothing to you?

It's not like we have a common opponent/conference foe at the end of the year playing on the exact same day with the exact same players as a measuring stick, so we just have to go off of the data we do have. I mean, the fact that Utah added a fourth moral victory in the post season by coming within 15 points of beating Penn State (the third place B1G team) in the Rose bowl and TCU only came within 7 points of losing to Michigan (the first place B1G team) in the CFP first round basically settles it. Remember, before 2014 nobody had even heard of the CFP so you certainly can't say a victory there is better than a moral victory in the Rose bowl, the grand-daddy of them all.

So, taking morality into account, Feldman is on solid ground with his take and nothing about it makes him look like a desperate pandering clown.
