Some of you know the details, but I believe BYU plans to do a complete field overhaul of the grass
That involves lowering the crown at the center of the field to limit the accumulation of water on the sides, redoing the sand and gravel base below to improve drainage, and installing grass more resistant to fungal infection.
Anyone have more details? Iowa State’s grass looked decent this weekend and Penn State’s always looks fantastic. Cold wet climates often create horrible playing surfaces in late fall. I hope we get some good outside expertise from NFL grounds crews in Denver and KC as well as PSU.
