Really? Who does the AAC have that makes them better or anywhere close to
to the Pac top to bottom now? Memphis? Tulane? East Carolina? USF?

Wazzu and Oregon St have held their own just fine as P5 members for 15 years, that’s far more than anyone in the AAC can say.

And Boise has been kings among the “little guys” aka the G5 along with BYU/Utah/TCU (not those 3 anymore, but you know what I mean) the last 20 years.

The AAC has some real dead weight midway through the conference to the bottom, and they don’t even have an especially strong top half or even top program. The Pac has dead weight in Utah St, but that’s about it. Everyone else in the Pac is as good as the best the AAC can offer. And Boise is far better than any AAC football program. It’s not saying much when we’re talking G5, and any G5 really worth all that much was already claimed by the big boys the last 3 years. But still.

And If the Pac lures the Zags I think Memphis will reconsider and eventually make the move this next year. Memphis isn’t the basketball powerhouse they once were, but they desperately want it and that’d be too good an opportunity to pass up compared with the AAC.

They’re both still G5, but 8/10 years the Pac will be a better football conference imo. And if they land the Zags and maybe Memphis their basketball will be just about as good as the worst power basketball conference some years
