Some additional interesting tidbits from the Locked on Cougars podcast today
1. Jake Hatch got blasted here on CB for his take on BYU using a "prevent offense" (i.e. extremely conservative) in the second half of the game. I think most of us saw Kalani unprompted lay into that completely false notion. Jeff Hansen also mentioned how off base that take is on his YouTube show. And today Jake asked Connor about it...not surprisingly he mentioned that the play calling was not conservative at all. ARod was still trying to get Jake to bomb the ball down field but there were missed assignments, guys not getting open, and poor execution. Play calling wasn't the problem, per Connor.

2. Every day in team meetings they have a player give an opening prayer. They go through person by person and players of different religions offer prayers in their own religion. Jake Retzlaff prays in Hebrew, Mory Bamba is Muslim and prays in Arabic, etc. Pretty cool to hear that.

3. He was asked about going to the bathroom during the game...I never thought about that. They drink tons of water beforehand to try to stay hydrated, but if they have to pee during the game they'd have to run all the way into the locker room. The problem is that if you run to the locker room, the defense could get a pick at any time. Interesting predicament I never thought about.

4. In addition to Elder Rasband, Connor's dad, Kalani, Shane Reece, and Keith Vorkink participated in the blessing...pretty cool. Connor was saying how unique of an experience that is for a BYU student and he'd never experience anything like that if he had chosen to play anywhere else. Specifically said LDS recruits should take that I to account.

5. Apparently Elder Rasband and Connor have had lunch together a few times previously to chat about how to improve the BYU experience, etc. Sounds like Elder Rasband is heavily involved in BYU's overall direction and experience.

Great podcast today from Jake. He had a terrible post game podcast after the Baylor game and he deservedly got blasted for that, but generally he has pretty interesting podcasts that are worth a listen.
