I wish that the majority would take their ball and go home.
I would like to see the ACC and Big XII along with the G5 go on the offensive. Unfortunately it would take a media partner with the money and the same vision to make it successful. Using what little tradition and regionalism remains as a marketing strategy might be inadequate at this point. Fortuanately while urban areas might provide eyeballs they don't provide passionate fans or a growing passionate fanbase like rural or less woke suburban areas. I find it amusing that big media knows this but ignores it. They will show the Big House filled to max capacity but are careful to ignore the relatively empty stadiums throughout many of the Big and SEC venues. They push a marketing narrative that can be competed against but it will take someone other than Fox, ESPN and NBC to change the strategy. It will take programs committed to create a sustainable process that doesn't rely on the impossible idea of becoming Ohio St, Penn St, Michigan, Alabama, Georgia, Clemson, Florida (cough, cough) or Florida St (snicker, snicker) etc. You are right. The only way those teams prosper by beating up on the rest of us with unfair distribution of resources. They will never agree to salary capping NIL or regulating the transfer portal in any way that does not favor them. The majority are doomed as long as they seek to become the minority. "It is good to be king." Until it isn't.
