defense next to Iowa State. I believe all of their losses have been fairly close games.
The game is in SLC, a place where BYU has not been able to escape with a win since 2006. And even then it nearly took a miracle to pull it off.
I don't care what analytics say. This is a rivalry game. The margin for error will be small. BYU will have a difficult time moving the ball against Utah unless they come up with a fantastic game plan for that defense. #7 and #8 on Utah are ballers.
I see fans wanting the game to be a blowout, and I would welcome that, too. But, the game will likely be a low-scoring affair. There's little reason to expect anything beyond a grind-it-out win for BYU if they are fortunate enough to leave SLC with a W.
That said, BYU's coaching staff has only been out-coached in one game this year - Oklahoma State. This is a great staff and I'm confident they will have the right game plan. They will give the players the best possible chance to succeed.
I realize many of us want revenge on Utah for all the nasty treatment and arrogance of the last decade. But, as the great Rex Lee once said to the BYU football team, "As Latter-day Saints, we don't believe in retribution. But we do believe in paying our debts." I do think a win at their place is long overdue, and we certainly owe them one. I don't care how ugly it is. I don't care if it's a battle of FGs or field position or whatever. Just get it done, boys. Bring home the Boot and keep those Big 12 title hopes alive.
