I don't excuse PSU's then-actions, but (like BYU) they've reversed their practices and organization since that time

If the case-by-case basis excuses it for BYU since BYU no longer follows those discriminatory practices, wouldn't the same apply to Penn St?

  • Anyone who was involved at Penn St is long gone
  • The policies that enabled those people have also been changed
  • Penn St paid a price ($150M in redress to those who were wronged and a NCAA fine to fund anti-child-abuse efforts)
  • (perhaps most importantly) Penn St has changed their stripes and becomes a leader in combatting child abuse

Your attitude seems to be that organizations CAN'T change and therefore probably shouldn't even bother trying because it doesn't matter if they do
