that the work from home one day a week is now no longer offered across the entire company. I had lost my WFH day last year when I was promoted to my current position. He said the letter would come out Monday and to be ready for questions. My team was NOT thrilled this morning with the news.
So that sucked, but what made me even more annoyed was he used his favorite analogy which I think is absolutely terrible. I’ve heard him say it like 6 times and I know he hates the idea of people working from home. He doesn’t believe others can be trusted.
His analogy is “Show me a football team that can work remote and then show up on Sunday and win a game.” He always ends it with, “I think that is just so true.”
I wanted to say “Well, I’m not throwing passes to my direct reports in stride 40 yards down a field…. I’m emailing them requests.”
Anyway, been wanting a new role for a bit now and the company culture I’m at isn’t great so I’ll be looking harder now.
