My wife is 18 months into her treatment for breast cancer. While she's done with the active treatment, she still has another nearly 3 years of treatment. She managed to get nearly every side effect listed on the medicine which has all kinds of long term issues. But she's still here and we look forward to a long future together.

Then, a month ago her mother was diagnosed with the same form of cancer. While they are still laying out her treatment plan, we've learned enough to know that our kids have a 50% chance of having the same gene.

It's all heavy stuff...cancer really sucks.
