my son's 6th grade English teacher was worse
6th grade was first year of middle school and they used this teacher to put the fear of you know who into every kid for the rest of their time at that school. First day she explained how a binder was to be organized and kept organized. She picked up a girl's binder at the desk next to my son's. The binder had a page that was askew. The teacher screamed, "LOOK AT HOW MESSY THIS BINDER IS! THIS IS TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE!" She then threw it frisbee style as hard as she could across the room. It hit the wall and exploded, papers flying everywhere. She then had the girl pick up all her papers in front of the class and put them back into the binder. That girl was transferred out of the class the next day.

Another rule was before lunch, all books and binders needed to be in the desk. My son left his notebook on top of the desk and it was gone when he came back from lunch. He panicked and asked the teacher where it was. "Oh, the janitor might have thrown it away if you left it out." My son and his friend had to dumpster dive for it for an hour before they found it -- had all of his homework, etc in it.

The lady was just a witch. Before first day of school at a meet the parents thing, she sweetly asked what Sam liked doing. "Oh, he does Boy Scouts, soccer, and baseball." She responds, "well students that do extracurricular activities don't do well in my class." This one class produced 2 hrs of homework per night for the sixth graders.
