The post about posters we had when we were kids reminded me of this.
I grew up in the Philly area and had something of an obsession with Dr. J. I remember seeing a life-size picture of his hand and it completely filled a regular size piece of paper (more than 11 inches from wrist to fingertip). I shook his hand once and his hand completely engulfed mine.
When he palmed the basketball, it looked like he was holding a mini basketball.
By the way, the best dunk ever in history was that dunk of his over Michael Cooper where he cuffed it off the dribble in his right hand and windmilled it. Cooper thought for a second about blocking it, but in midair gave up and just got out of the way as best he could.
