That leaves me with a question, though
If all this is true, it means that Texas ultimately has no leverage. If it makes no sense for Texas to go independent, or for A&M to leave for the SEC, then how was Texas able to extract additional payments from the rest of the Big 12, along with a lion's share of TV revenue? Sure, Texas is Texas, but if it's as clear as you suggest that Texas has no option other than to stay in the Big 12, Texas has no leverage to command more than anyone else. But Texas does command more than everyone else.
