I never gave serious pause to the five defections heading for the PAC-10, never thought the Longhorns would jump into bed with the California schools where it's ego would be potentially tarnished playing the likes of UCLA, ASU, Zona, Stanford, Oregon, OSU and Washington...oh and USC.

The Big-12 is mis named now as is the Big-TEN, but at some point the former may decide it needs those extra teams. Until it does and that could be a decade or more, it knows that there are advantages both ways. In the Big-12, Texas, Texas Tech, Oklahoma and Texas A&M won't have that much annual competiton as Missouri, Ok State and the Kansas Schools are down a considerable notch. ISU and Baylor are the...um...ISU and baylor of that conference and every conference need's its version of Wyiming and UNLV, Vanderbilt and Ole Miss, Duke and Wake Forest, Wazzo and .... whoever bottoms out in the PAC-12 now on a rotating basis.

The sooner BYU fans get over their BCS crush, the better. BYU has a lock with ESPN and ESPN OWNS the BCS television rights. In other words, they own the gold. THEY WILL MAKE THE RULES. THAT can't be a bad thing for BYU.
