For a long time the excuse was that the "little guys" would never be discovered by viewers. That's bull crap though. Media like Roku allow for the smallest of the small niches to broadcast for next to nothing. Some of the channels on Roku are so unbelievably specific with who they're targeting - they could NEVER make it in the cable/satellite world.
