I think you hit it right. A lot of those awards were due to BYU guys not getting them during the '79-'85 run. McMahon and/or Young should've gotten a Heisman, and all the voters knew it.

From '86 to '05, there were two whole seasons with fewer than 3 losses, one of which was Crowton's first year. Since '05 we have had three such seasons. Just sayin'.

BTW, Crowton produced a Doak Walker award winner. I guess that makes up for the three straight losing seasons.


Under Bronco's tenure we have the Nos 2 and 3 all time passers, and the nos 1 and 2 all time rushers, and the nos 1 and 2 all time receivers. Just because you can no longer hail from the WAC and expect to receive national awards does not mean our guys have not been producing.
