I was a track athlete at BYU
and knew runners from other schools. It never came up to compare the intricate details of our training. It's unlikely that the OP really has enough information to know if the program's workload is harder or easier than the big time programs. I would also like to know the frequency of these workouts, because it's not proper training method to do anaeobic work more than 2-3 times per week.
