My paper airplane experience
I actually had a cool experience with a paper airplane at the Oregon State Game this year. In the fourth quarter, after things had fallen apart, the realization that BYU was going to lose the game hit my 9-year old boy pretty hard. The whole family had driven 550 miles to Provo, it was his first BYU football game ever, and he had screamed and cheered his heart out for three quarters. As reality started to sink in, he was becoming despondent and although he was trying very hard to be a man about the loss, he was having a hard time suppressing the tears.

At that exact moment, a paper airplane made out of a $5 bill hit him in the shoulder, and dropped right into his lap. The timing could not have been more perfect. He was instantly happy. His brothers were all jealous. He talked about it all the way home, across two states.

So just in case the guy who threw that paper airplane happens to read Cougarboard, I want to give my sincere thanks and let him know that he helped give my boy a great memory from his first BYU football game.
