The worst part about the entire colonoscopy is my stomach feels super bloated from all the air they pumped in.
I had a polyp removed that the Dr. believes is precancerous. So makes me extra glad I didn't put this off. I'll find out the biopsy results in 7-10 days.
The comments also says I have "diverticulosis of the whole colon" so I guess I need more fiber in my diet. Not sure how common that is for a 45-yr-old.
Making my 3-day fast coincide with this was great. Since I was starting the Suprep solution at the 48-hour mark, I was past peak hunger pangs (which, IME, go away sometime around 36 hours). And afterward, the doctor said I had the "cleanest colon of the day" so I got that going for me. I'm currently sipping chicken broth and it tastes better than anything I've ever had.
All in all, the entire thing was really easy and I'm glad I did it, given that I had a polyp. I can't remember if I have to do this again in 5 or in 10 years (or if that will depend on the biopsy results) because I was pretty out of it during the followup discussion. My wife will probably remember.
One last thing: I had heard the the Valium and propofol would give me the best nap of my life but it wasn't anything special. It made an hour disappear but I felt about the same as a nice Sunday afternoon nap plus the bloated feeling.
