Yah a trade with OKC essentially can’t be done under the rules
TWolves do need to shed some salary by next summer if they want to avoid the double tier luxury line which not only punishes the team financially but now also hamstrings the type of moves they can make because they cannot do any deal that increases salary and all trades have to include the same number of players traded. Also no longer any mid tier exception. Plus they risk having their pick move to the end of the first round if they stay in the 2nd apron for 3/5 years. There are several nba teams that will have similar issues.

I think this is what Ainge is hoping the Jazz can take advantage of if one of these double luxury teams end up deciding to trade a good player to shed salary. As far as the Wolves, Towns has been speculating as possibility being traded. I don’t think Rudy’s contract is viewed as favorable with other teams. The Wolves reportedly have some internal disagreements where one owner just wants to pay and win but others may want to try and shed some salary.
