The rule was made specifically because of a "firsthand account" that turned out to be false
It had a very obvious negative affect on some players as well.
To answer your question, it's perfectly fine to reference a rumor that originated somewhere else. We can't control those other places. We just don't want the rumors originating on CougarBoard.
