Teams to Match Our Fanbase
No matter how you look at it, BYU enjoys a very good fanbase. The national brand is a national brand because of the fanbase. The high dollar neutral site games our football team has commanded over the years have been offered to BYU because of our fanbase. The ability navigate and thrive in Independence . . . because of our fanbase. The invite to the Big 12 . . . because of our fanbase. We need teams to match our fanbase.

This isn't a knock on our teams, either. I actually think our basketball team might take a slight step back, but ultimately Young will prove very good and we will get the Sweet Sixteen or higher in the next three years. Also, I think that our football team will be much improved and will end with a winning record and an additional bowl win. I'll call it, 7-5, 8-5 with the bowl win. I recognize many will think I am crazy for thinking, but board name checks out.

If what I posted about were to happen, then I would think BYU is on the right track to match the energy and success our fanbase shows every year. I know that our coaches and players are grateful for the fans. We are constantly told, as fans, we need to accept that we are going to have more losing seasons because of being in a P4, the Honor Code, the unique quirkiness of the BYU's NIL philosophy.

Why should we accept it? The fan support is what got you there. Shouldn't the university invest in the program to the extent that you can win there? Shouldn't the AD investment match the fan support? Basketball seems to be getting a bigger investment, but what about football. Is BYU not a football school? Doesn't football drive the eyes, the branding, the exposure and the money many times what basketball does?

Do you feel the BYU is producing teams to match our fanbase?
