I believe with plenty of time and an easy throw can be harder than
a bang, bang play.
Maybe because as a sophomore playing 3rd, I had two easy throws to first. Plenty of time. First one sailed out of the ballpark. 2nd one also sailed out of the ballpark.
First baseman was on the defensive when I had a lot of time to throw the rest of the year. Bang, bang I was fine.
Maybe that was why I was moved to 2nd my Jr. year and in college.
