Sheep are always portrayed in religious artwork as gentle white hornless fluffy creatures
I am 100% city-slicker and know nothing about sheep or livestock, but was just given a couple sheep (Dorper) today to keep the grass down in my small pasture on my property.

As I'm learning more about sheep this week, I'm realizing a bunch of them have horns, aren't white, etc. And some don't seem completely gentle and docile. As I'm reading up on it I guess many (most?) of the sheep of the Bible weren't white and maybe also had horns.

Also, some of those sheep are bigger than I ever realized. Dang religious artists gave me a false impression of these creatures. I had no idea these things had horns. I ultimately won the battle with getting the two lambs into the trailer. Not sure what I'll do when they get bigger by end of fall though. Did I mention they have horns?
Yes, I'm a wuss
