Tualatin is 6A, Oregons highest, and plays in the three rivers conference- six schools. They have been dominant going 24-0 out of league last year and along with Central Catholic are the cream of Oregon football the last 5 years. Always have been probably best but it’s glaring now They have the most local talent, money, best coaches and now with the transferring of the last 5 years all the other best kids want to come here to win and get recruited. Every starter in the league has college opportunities and 15 went p4 and 2 times that to D1’s. Kids going to usc, Oregon, big10, Washington, every year. Always wondered why we don’t see BYu more but coaches have been around more lately.
The last couple years top Oregon teams have beaten top Washington teams in Preseason including all three Mentioned below -Tual, CC WL last year which is historically the case. So the top end talent is there.
Tualatin, CC, and WL have been a cut above during this time. They have won all the state championships, had all the players of the year Tualatin Has had 3 of the last 4. Their last QBs have gone to Washington and Idaho. They run a very air raid type offense. Top kid last year had late offers from penn st. And auburn and turned down Oregon to go to ASU.
My interest other than watching good hs football is that some of the best kids of recent vintage have been LdS including Leavitt at Weat Linn who was the only player of the year not at Tualatin the last couple years (and transferred there) and at Tualatn with Evans who has bern local and was Tualstin MVP last year led the league in Tackles last year and is state #1 kicker and Keeney who transferred in last year and is physically everything you want in a QB.
Would love to see more Oregon kids represented on a BYu roster that currently has none!
One problem is school get out mid June here. BYU football camps are during finals. How is any kid supposed to get there? There are good LdS kids out here. I’ve mentioned a few before in other posts.
Interestingly, both leavitt and Keeney transferred from Westview, a Beaverton school to these Three Rivers Powerhouse schools.
