What idiocy.

Where to start (and I only have a few minutes). In no particular order just a few quick comments (each issue could be a large discussion):

$. Anyone paying attention to the info available in Equity In Athletics and the recent newspaper stories on college revenue knows that BYU is now making (IIRC)@ 18 to 19 million more than when they were last in the MWC (with a 5 mil profit). It will take a full revenue share from the PAC before UT can match BYU (especially when you deduct their 10 million state subsidy). I think we are making 20 mil more than BSU. And you are going to give that up for a few million from the MWC? Idiocy.

Fan Access and Exposure. So, instead of all FB games on ESPN and then all the other live sport broadcasts on BYUtv you think we should go back to the MWC and few games on ESPN? Idiocy. BYUtv has brought greatly increased interest to BYU sports. And yes, even among recruits and particularly among those who don't live in Utah who get to see the games and then go to games when they come to their areas outside the MWC schools.

And for what? "Measurable goals" because we can win a lot of games in a weak MWC? lol. How good was USU really? Don't know because they beat nothing but bad teams and a non-BCS team whose ranking was obviously inflated because of their conference. So "all would be well" if we win in the MWC rather than play more games with the big-boys? You have that backward.

Cost savings by playing in the MW?? Hilarious. You give up 10 or 20 million to save a little on travel in your fantasy world where the MWC would now kick out Hawaii? Idiocy.

And, of course, the WCC is a FAR superior athletic conference than the MWC except for MBB. And even then, the WCC is a top 10 conference (and perhaps even better than the MWC this yr). Sorry, just because the MWC may be ranked a little higher than the WCC in MBB is not worth giving up the $, fan access and exposure provided by Indy and the WCC. Heck, BSU and SDSU were willing to go to a 20something ranked BB conference to escape the MWC in football.

I would love to be in a big 5 conference but giving up what BYU is really just beginning to see the fruits of to return to the MWC is ridiculous.
