Let's take a look
at our recent results VS current MWC teams.
Utah St. 2010, they blew us out up in logan. 2011, we got them on a heroic final drive by Riley Nelson and a fortunate tipped pass. 2012, 3 point hard fought victory at home. 2013, we blew them out up at their place. 3-1 in BYU's favor, but the games were closer than 3-1 looks.
Boise. 2012 they beat us in a close game up there. 2013, their senior QB goes down and we face their 2nd string guy and beat them pretty good at home. 1-1
Nevada. 2013 ugly ugly ugly we were luck to win that game. 1-0
San Jose St. 2011 we beat them at our place and they get us in their place in 2012. 1-1
Of course we'd be a top tier MWC team and if we were in this year we'd be in the championship game where I believe we would have lost to Fresno St. a team that I believe is fairly comparable to UW. The way Indy is set up the season just fades away. Losses to Wisc and ND with a pitiful home finally vs ISU lead to our team going to a MWC bottom dweller Nevada and barely winning. IMO our team was just disinterested. In comparison, if we were in the MWC ending vs Nevada would be fine because we'd be focused on the upcoming championship with Fresno and then a game vs Wyo, or CSU or Nevada would mean more to the players and us the fans. Year in year out we'd of course be at the top of the league but by no means are we head and shoulders above the league.
