Add in the $1200 you're saving as discretionary and you're doing fine
That would give you about $2300 in discretionary funds per month which would cover a comfortable lifestyle. Shouldn't have a car payment either. Cars are a lifestyle choice. You should drive what you can afford to pay cash for or pay off very quickly. I could say the same about a home. You could easily cut that payment in half and still have plenty of room for your family if you're living in Utah.
