years running--where there were a rash of sexual assaults, burglaries, and shoplifting occurrences committed (and verified) by Miami and Florida State team members. This happened when these teams were highly ranked and competing for the NC (1990's).
I don't know what the judicial system did against the offenders, but I do know that only one was suspended for one game, against Bo-Diddly-Tech. Even last season the FSU coaching staff had little interest in finding out if their QB was really guilty of sexual assault until after the NC game.
BYU seems to be the only team that has the guts to bench or dismiss players who do this stuff. I applaud that. Even Whittingham will sweep these things under the rug up at the U if he can.
That is why I remain skeptical.
