I agree, but the church is too caught up with how it would be perceived if they

invested in a football program IMO. That's why you got the "we won't get caught up in an arms race" comment from Sammuelson when we were trying to get into the Big 12. Whether we like it or not, college football IS an arms race now.

We'll find out in a hurry if the church really does think the football program is a missionary tool. Because I don't think it's gonna survive unless it gets more resources.
