to try out for basketball, so he always did but really was awful. He honestly knew every year that he'd have to try out, so it became a joke to him and everyone else at try-outs. Great sense of humor and was a lot of fun. He could shoot, but that was it. Other than that Mel's grandson was an awesome 3rd baseman, and that was his passion. Until looking at old photos of Mel, I didn't realize how much his grandson, Josh, looks just like him.
