Yea it's politically correct for the player to credit his team mates...but no...it's not remotely a team award. Nor is the Outland...the Bilentnikoff, the Groza etc. They are individual awards. It's sort of the purpose.
And if Taysom has similar games against Nebraska...and Michigan...and UCLA...and Missouri...and they all finish about 8-5...he will absolutely still be a Heisman candidate...just like he was after doing it to Texas...even though they were down. You and I both know that to be true...and discounting what he did against Texas really is kind of sad.
No one in the history of Texas football has ever done that to Texas. And the team he destroyed in Austin had 5 players drafted this year...and 4 of the 5 played on defense. Those guys were the ones he was looking back at...in a way no player has ever done against Texas...
He deserve props, not derision.
